Hogs and Kisses
Severiina and I, kind of inspired by this lovely cross stitch …
Severiina is a plush piggy I rescued from a thrift store some years ago. Her snout is all worn out, so she was probably kissed a lot by a previous owner. I do my best to also make her feel loved here in her new home. V^(oo)^V
Frosty datscha weekend
One of many reasons why I like my stove is that its lower air vent looks like a piggy snout. See this slightly enhanced photo:
(Mum, do not look at the lower right corner of the picture! I just noticed that the container with twigs for starting the fire is really dirty. Oops …)
2010
At first I felt a bit silly filling out this questionnaire, but then I saw that Mikael Sol had done it, too, so why not me.
1. What did you do in 2010 that you’d never done before?
Lots of stuff — the nicest being starting to rent a garden outside the city and renovating the construction trailer that is there. That place makes me very happy.
2. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
No and no. (Maybe I should remove the boring questions from this questionnaire, but I’m too lazy.)

TATAR PRIDE
I made peremech for a little party yesterday, and I realised I needed a suitable shirt for it. So I traced Bronson onto some fabric on my light table with textile colour, and then sewed it on this shirt.
I would have painted directly on the shirt, but it’s made of some weird mesh and velvet stuff that doesn’t really take the colour very well.
(In the background you can see my painting for which my piggy Sergei stood model. It’s perhaps inspired by Petrov-Vodkin. I haven’t given it any title, but I guess “Slumber of a Red Pig” could be a nice one.)
5. Tagtool Session at Café Wendel
Andreas Dzialocha talked me into doing some live drawing with the tagtool at Café Wendel, where they have a regular event (once a month) that brings together tagtool artists and musicians for improvised sessions.
Both me and Karotoons, who did the animation, had only used the tagtool maybe once before, and none of us had ever worked together or even met before, so it was really totally extreme improvisation. And lots of fun!
Getting started with the setup with Andreas Dzialocha and Roman Hagenbrock.
(All photos here were taken by Eija Elmgrén.)
There had been some problems with the tagtool box and tablet recognition, and my tablet didn’t work either, but one of the two backup tablets Andreas brought did. Phew! However, it lost the pressure sensitivity just before the performance begun. I figured I could just adjust my style to that …
