Tinet’s festival schedule fall 2011

24th-25th of September: Gothenburg Book Fair
On Saturday, the 24th, at 17.00-17.45 I shall partake in a comics battle!
On Sunday, the 25th, at 13.00-13.45, I will discuss comics and the Swedish child pornography laws together with Magnus Knutsson, Maria Abrahamsson and Fredrik Strömberg.
And right after that, on Sunday at 14.00-14.45, I will talk about self-published comics with Stef Gaines and several other Swedish self-published comics people.
All of the events will happen at the comics scene, Seriescenen, located at A02:39!

1st-23rd of October: Fanzines! Festival, Paris
I won’t be there personally, but among the hundreds of zines from all over the world in the exhibition are all the comics zines I’ve ever made! All the zines will remain in the collection of the Marguerite Duras public library after the festival, which will make it one of the coolest libraries ever.

24th-26th of November: Gothenburg Comics Festival
I will partake in this festival in my favourite part of my favourite Swedish city with a small exhibition, featuring part of the final chapter of Driftwood. That comic is quite significantly influenced by the period when I lived in Hjällbo and went to high school in the same building complex where the festival is held. I’ll also sell some books and zines to the unsuspecting audience. (It would be cool if I could have the final issue of my zine Tunguska ready by then, but knowing me and my work ethics I won’t promise anything yet …)

DRIFTWOOD CH. 9 P. 7-9

Looks like I haven’t posted about the new pages in a while …

Read Driftwood chapter 9, page 7-9

54 down, 119 to go. V`(oo)´V
(I was debilitated by lyme disease and antibiotics for two weeks there, but now I’m on Driftwood page 14, plus I’ve drawn two pages for another comic, and I guess if I count the hourly comics I should also count the hipster hating thing in the previous post …)

Slutty glasses

I only have solar power, and since it has been an exceptionally rainy summer, it doesn’t usually last me very long if I have to run Windows and heavy Adobe software for work. So I go to town and work at a cafe. The best place I have found for that so far is St. Oberholz – they have comfortable chairs and tables for working, lots of electric sockets, wifi, no waiters who come and interrupt you or make you uncomfortable for sitting there all day, and it’s big enough to get lost in the crowd. And almost everybody else also brings their laptop (95% are fruit computers, though) … and almost everybody else is a hipster.

So unless I can drown out the surroundings with my own music in headphones, I have to endure overhearing conversations like this …

Rain and lunch

Hmm, what colours should I wear this summer, to match the bruises on my legs …? Purple, green, yellow? (I fell into a tram track with my bike.) Well, so far it doesn’t seem to be a problem, really, because it just won’t stop raining.

Nasturtium, potatoes, nettles and borages, all blossoming in the rain.

Honeybee

A worker bee! They have to work, come rain, come shine. So do I, so when there isn’t enough sun for my solar panels, I have to go to town and work in a cafe.

The only truth there is

The other day somebody tried to make me feel better (or so I hope) by telling me that “time places things in place”. It didn’t really work, because this is the only interpretation I could think of.
