Yay claustrophobia! Sliding doors on the bunks for privacy but also even more claustrophobia. It’s normal on boats like this, but I personally could not live like that, in a 6-bunk cabin with no window. I already had a claustrophobia attack once in a fairly roomy 3rd class Finland ferry cabin with 4 bunks and no window (because it was below the fucking water line :((((((( …). What can I say, I enjoy drawing comics about fascinating things that I’d rather not do in real life.

I shuffled all my music and got The Stone Roses: Mersey Paradise. Which might be something Willie would listen to on the radio of her walkman and sing along to (out of tune) and change the words of. :3 (It actually works because ‘Tyne’ with a Geordie accent sounds more like ‘toon’ …)
This place is in Byker, Newcastle in the industrial area where Quayside becomes St. Lawrence Road. Though I’m not sure if it looked about the same in 1998 as it does today.
