Driftwood 5 12

As you might notice, Aeron doesn’t throw away the dirty dishwater after he’s done washing the dishes. That’s because it can be used for something else later on! Like soaking the next dishes in. They don’t want to waste water. :o) (After soaking the next dishes, you *might* allow yourself to throw the water away, unless you find some other use for it …)
How to wash dishes! – though in my culture, we always use dish brushes.

And yes, in panel 2, that is really a scheme for cutting up pork.
Not that they ever eat pork. At sea, they mostly eat fresh fish, sausages and canned or dried meat when it comes to meat – but not pork, out of consideration for Seraphine – because they don’t keep any animals.
So, yeah, unlike me, they aren’t vegetarians!!! But Willie will probably become vegetarian at some point, when she starts thinking about where the meat comes from, and how inefficient meat production is, and inspire some of the others, too. I myself became seriously vegetarian around the age of 17, although there is nothing as delicious as a beef steak (except smoked mackerel).
